While not particularly generous, Club Carlson’s new promotion is at least simple and straightforward.

Offer Details

Between April 18 and July 31, Club Carlson members can earn up to 50,000 bonus points, as follows:

  • 5,000 bonus points after two nights
  • An additional 10,000 bonus points after five nights
  • An additional 10,000 bonus points after 10 nights
  • An additional 25,000 bonus points after 15 or more nights

So, a total of 50,000 bonus points after 15 nights.

Registration is required.

Deal or No Deal

Club Carlson members normally earn 20 points per $1 spent. Assuming a hypothetical stay of two $150 nights, you’d earn 3,000 points per night and 6,000 points for two nights. In that scenario, the 5,000-point bonus for two nights amounts to somewhat less than double points. For five nights, the average bonus increases to 3,000 points per night, or exactly twice the normal earnings. Strangely, after 10 nights the average per-night bonus decreases, to 2,500 points. But at 15 nights, it rises again, to an average of 3,333 bonus points per night.

So, depending on the hotel rates and the number of qualifying nights, the bonus will average out around the double-points mark, a bit more or a bit less.

For Carlson loyalists, that’s probably enough to keep them in the fold. Brand agnostics, on the other hand, may find a better return on their travel dollar elsewhere.
