For the third time, JetBlue is beginning the new year with a double-points offer. It was a pretty good deal in 2015, and it’s still a pretty good deal in 2016.

Offer Details

Through February 29, members of JetBlue‘s TrueBlue program can earn double elite-qualifying base points for all JetBlue flights.

TrueBlue members normally earn three base points per dollar, plus an additional three points for flights booked on jetblue.com. With the bonus, the base earning rate increases to six points per dollar, plus the three-point bonus for booking with JetBlue, for a total of nine points per dollar.

Bonus-eligible bookings must be made by January 31. There’s no limit to the number of bonus points that may be earned through the promotion.

Deal or No Deal

Double base points? It could be better, especially since the extra points earned for booking through JetBlue, which many travelers earn, are not doubled.

Points apply toward elite status. A nice value-add to the extra points, unusual in network-wide promotions.

Two-month promotion period. Good, but a three-month travel window would be better.

Bonus points on all flights. Perfect!

Overall, JetBlue’s promotion is simple, accessible, and reasonably generous. That makes it a winner.
