In 1997, during what turned out to be the final few years of a 20-year career developing and managing loyalty programs for Singapore Airlines, All Nippon Airways, and Hilton Hotels, Tim Winship launched the FrequentFlier.com website to help travelers make the most of their miles and points. Since then, he has served as contributing editor at OAG’s Frequent Flyer magazine, co-authored “Mileage Pro – The Insider’s Guide to Frequent Flyer Programs” with Randy Petersen, and provided loyalty consulting services to companies in the airline, hotel, telecom, and sports industries. He is also a longtime contributor to SmarterTravel.com, where he continues to serve as Editor-at-Large. Winship’s writing and expert commentary appear regularly in many of the country’s most trusted news sources.
He’s a longtime member of the Society of American Travel Writers.
Winship earned his BFA from California Institute of the Arts and an MBA from USC, and completed several years of graduate work in philosophy at California State University, Los Angeles.
